J. KEN DIAZ, CPA

A PROVEN LEADER PROTECTING YOUR TAX DOLLAR

Results-Driven Leadership for Clark County

J. Ken Diaz isn’t just a career public servant; he is a transformational leader who has revolutionized the Clark County Treasurer’s Office.  Since taking the helm, Ken has replaced outdated bureaucracy with 21st-century innovation.  From launching  convenient web-based and kiosk payment systems to introducing instant text and email reminders, Ken has made paying taxes simpler and more transparent.  His pro-active approach – renegotiating high-cost contracts and cutting red tape – hasn’t just increased efficiency; it has secured meaningful savings for you, the taxpayer.

Experience You Can Trust.  Results You Can See.

Since being elected Clark County Treasurer in 2022, Ken Diaz has been the steady hand guiding our county’s fiscal future.  With over two-decades of public service, beginning in our Budget and Internal Audit departments, Ken didn’t just join the office; he transformed it.

In 2025, Ken took his vision to the state level, drafting landmark legislation that earned overwhelming bipartisan support and was signed by Governor Lombardo.  By modernizing Nevada law (NRS 361), Ken successfully strengthened consumer protections for every property owner in our state.  Ken just doesn’t manage the system … he fixes it to work for you!

Rooted in Las Vegas, Dedicated to Service

Ken is a lifelong Las Vegas resident, has two children, who understands our community because he grew up here.  A proud graduate of Cashman Junior High and Clark High School, Ken went on to earn his Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) advanced degree at UNLV.  Above all, Ken is a veteran, having been based at Nellis Air Force Base.  His commitment to duty and integrity is the foundation of everything he does.

Unmatched Professional Expertise

As a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with deep roots in the private sector … including senior roles at Deloitte & Touche and Nevada Power Company … Ken brings a level of financial precision rarely seen in government.  With over two decades of experience in the County’s Budget and Internal Audit departments, he is the ultimate watchdog for public funds.

Ken maintains active professional affiliations with the Nevada State Board of Accountancy, the Nevada County Fiscal Officers Association (CFOA), and the Government Investment Officers Association (GIOA).  He also served multiple terms on the board of the Las Vegas Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (LV-ACFE).
